Suddenly a bright flash filled the cave, temporarily blinding both of the spectators. When their eyes stopped watering and they could see, they gasped in astonishment. Before them was a baby dragon surrounded by the changed nest stones. Each stone had been drained of color and were now crystal clear. The baby dragon stared at the two and immediately both Acorn and Dragonia heard a small clear voice in their heads. The dragon stared at the Baroness and just asked “Mom?” then at Acorn who heard a different question “Friend?”
Soon the shock began to wear off and Acorn had his old snarky self back. “So, what is it’s name?” he asked Dragonia. This time the hatchling did not respond but only looked at the two.
“I think he wants us to name him,” she replied. The dragon nodded his head affirmatively.
“What will it’s name be?” she thought.
