Now, this is where the fun begins!
My dolls take on their own energy or life force as they come together. I get just as surprised at some of the twists and turns they take as they are deciding their hair color or eyes. I am playing with something different for her hairstyle but yet she is a grand lady. As a result, the hair should be up and dignified as a dowager duchess.
I love how my characters introduce themselves to me. Furnace (aka Furn) came about because I wanted a scrounger, a character out of the normal for me to create, and was inspired by my experience to the little village of Furnace, Wales. But even when I am in the middle of creating one character, my mind is already flowing to the next one.
Of course my next character needed to be a female to my male. Whenever I want magical inspiration I normally turn to Harry Potter as I do so love Maggie Smith. I wanted my character to be a little dark like Furn but yet have a good heart. Fightsy, strong, and knowing her own mind. Hmmm... sounds like I just described the personality of the Dowager Countess of Grantham from Downton Abbey.
But why the tea for two? Well, of course I am already thinking of my next character even as I am putting the final touches to Dragonia. To have the attitude of a Dowager, one must have an Earl of course... the Earl of Grey. Yep, even my tea shop experiences have a way of showing up in my work.
Welcome to my blog. This is where I will reveal the magic of my Faes and share with you some of the success and pitfalls through the journey of doll making, sculpting, and other crafts that all come back to my dolls in many ways.
