Awena
As member of the Order of Sleeping Sisters I have enhanced my abilities in understanding dreams as well as have learned many languages. The most difficult to learn has been the Language of the Flowers (because they talk so slow) but it was necessary as I also work closely with the Petal Posts.

Do you believe in your dreams? Do you see messages in them like I do? I am Awena of the Order of the Sleeping Sisters though I should have known this was my calling even from my name.
After all, Awena means "muse" in Welsh which I guess makes me a seer of sorts. My full name is Awena Buttorfleoge. 'Buttorfleoge' is an old English word for butterfly. The villagers used to think I was pretty flighty before I became a Sleeping Sister as I would flit from topic to topic, much like a butterfly flying from spot to spot. Before becoming a Sister, I lived the life of a Ganome. Most have never heard of Ganomes, so let's just say that we are similar to Gnomes but a faster and more impatient cousin. Normally we speak quickly and do most things fast. We even write fast - where did you think the use of 'short hand' writing came from?
It was a difficult choice for me to make in joining the Order. At the time I thought I had just met the person (more like the troll) I was to be with, but the Fates had another path for me to walk.
Now, I must go back to my meditations and working with the messages that have been revealed to me. Remember, just because it came to you in a dream does not make the message any less important. |
