A Voice???

It  has been a process in learning how to let go, but then my characters are good about teaching me lessons.

It only took six time with trying to capture Echo before I just had to let go my preconceived ideas about her. 

What did I know about her?  She is a younger sister to Ellie (E'luminosity) making her a member of the Moonie clan.  As a younger sister it is easy to be over looked, not seen, or feeling like one lost in the middle of a crowd.  Often or not, I felt like Echo would be just that, reflecting or bouncing off the walls, repeating what others said and not truly using her own voice to be heard.  Simply and echo. 

This type of understanding of Echo's personality would reflect a somber quiet mousy type of character.  Boy!  Was I wrong.  Finally, when I let go of my perceptions and listened or rather "saw" her, I got a totally different perspective.  For an 'echo' is just more of repeating what others say - an illusion!

When I finally started looking for her, she actually came together quite fast.  As I am working on her balance, I realized a couple of things about her personality.  Echo is a prankster and quite mischievous.  She also learned something about herself as she revealed more as well.  She wanted her own voice!  Which meant that she had to choose what she wanted to listen too and hear.  

This meant she needed some quiet time.  Taking the time to exercise her own voice but also to "listen".  It was during one of those listening periods that she first heard this new voice.  A very quiet and gentle voice and one that sounded lonely as well.  

Since Echo is still a work in progress, she will have to develop a little more of her "listening" skill and her own voice to have those in power listen to her.  Or at the least, to get her big sister to listen to her as she learns more about this mysterious 'other' voice she is hearing.
