"Hazelwyn, who is this Arnie and what is it that you expect them to do?" she asked. "Let's go to my home, Roslie," replied Hazelwyn. "We can talk better there," she said while she silently thought to herself "and in privacy". As Roslie and Hazelwyn went to leave the library, Hazelwyn took a quick look over her shoulder before leaving the building. "It never hurts to be aware of who is watching, let alone listening," she thought to herself. Not seeing anyone paying any attention to them, she turned and followed Roslie out of the library doors and into the street to see if they could locate a Finder. In the meantime while Roslie and Hazelwyn begin looking for Arnie, I have a new DreamWeaver to bring into the story.
While we are waiting to see if my new creation will make it through the mold stage - back to my "policy" on AI. To read more - click here to see my take on using it. The only other thing I will add is that I do use some AI and several other graphic art programs to help in creating pictures for my storytelling (which the story is never done with AI), so that you experience a unique "peek into" their world. Without some computer magic, their story might not reach as many who need a touch of whimsy in their lives.

Hazelwyn returned to the book she had been reading as Roslie moved closer to see. "It says here that Hag was of the Moon and the Stars. The other Guardian was of the Earth and Woods. It took her magic and feminine arts with his male brawn and... " as Hazelwyn paused in her recital as Roslie did a little giggle. "Do you see what else she wrote?" Roslie asked. Before Hazelwyn could answer, she continued "It said and I quote, 'should I say little thought to help open the doors to our Realm.' Apparently Hag has a slight ego about her importance in the plot of things." No sooner than Roslie finished saying those words, a great gust of cold wind came through the room. Both Hazelwyn and Roslie looked at each other wondering who would have opened a window, especially in the restricted area of the library.
Before them they could see an old woman puttering around in her small kitchen. Then they heard the knock. A younger woman entered the hut and Hag spun her a tale and a dream. To discover what that tale was click here. After Hag gave the woman her dream, instantly Hazelwyn and Roslie were back in the library. A little shaken and windblown, Roslie looked around the room and whispered to the other, "What just happened?" In awe and also in some shock, Hazelwyn replied, "We just saw the dream that created our world. That was a portal in time that was opened for us to see." "I know that Hag is no longer in that hut," Hazelwyn said, "But I have a feeling we are suppose to find that hut again." "Do you think we could?" asked Roslie. "I do, especially with the help of Arnie who is now a Finder of Lost Things instead of being a Borrower of Others Things," Hazelwyn answered. "It is important to locate the hut and find the door key to it as well."
"Hi," said Roslie. "What an amazing library this is." All that Hazelwyn could focus on was the tea in Roslie's hand and that she was holding a bag from the Sugar Plum Bakery. "What are you doing here?" Hazelwyn asked. Roslie smiled as she replied, "I overheard an anxious library clerk placing an order for you and thought I would help out. He seemed to be quite nervous, like he never has left the library building before. So yes, I have some tea and crumpets for us to share. What are you working on?" she asked curiously. "You are a life saver, Roslie but I must get back to my research," Hazelwyn told her as she reached for the sweets Roslie had brought. She then turned around to return to the book she had left open on the table. Roslie followed Hazelywn to the table and seeing the ancient book, she read upside down the name on the page that it was open to, "Hag, the Dream Weaver". With an eagerness to her voice and a touch of meddling thrown in, Roslie asked, "Who was she and what is a Dream Weaver?" Hazelwyn looked up at Roslie and asked "Will you keep what I tell you to yourself? Not share it with anyone, even your sisters the Roses? Cross your toes and bite your nails?" Roslie looked back at Hazelwyn raising her hand as she replied. "I will not tell a soul, or a bump in the night, or a living thing! Now who is this Hag?"
Taking a bite of the crumpet, then swallowing, she reached for the cup of tea. With the cup in her hand, she raise it as offering a toast and said, "We will drink to our new friendship and mission."
"I need to get this article over to the office before they close and using the Twitter birds just won't do," Hazelwyn continued to think as she walked around her small cottage. "Plus the Mushroom Line is only good for gossip, not for a reliable story like mine." She slipped on the wooly clogs for her feet and began to pull on one more shawl over her head to protect her from the chilly wind blowing outside. Hazelwyn then opened the door and took one more look to see if she had what she needed. With a wave of her hand over her the doorknob, a small glittery light swirled and settled on the lock. "Even in this safe neighborhood, it never hurts to protect oneself and one's home," Hazelwyn said to herself. With a satisfied smile, she turned and proceeded to start her long walk to the newspaper office in the village. As Hazelwyn was dreamily thinking of how brillant Snoop was going to think her article was, Roslie came out of a side path. "Good day Fae one," Roslie said.
Hazelwyn, always the newspaper reporter, asked "So what did you think of our recent holiday of Dragonfaust and how our village does what it can in the match making department?" "I will admit," said Roslie, "It wasn't what I was expecting but it was fun to see Lallan 'bag' Seamus finally. She has been mooning over him forever from what I hear and was just tired of waiting for him to make his first move." "Yes, they have been the talk of the village. We even had odds on if she was going to bag him this year," answered Hazelwyn. "With the long odds, I made a bundle on my Dragonfaust Pool bet."
With that thought in mind, Roslie got up from behind the desk and walked over to the House Brownie known as Granny Flare. With a shy nod to her head she cleared her throat as she stood before Granny. Roslie than said "Hello Fae One" using the traditional greeting from one Fae to another that were unfamiliar to each other. Granny hearing the traditional greeting, smiled and stopped her magical writing in her book. Returning the traditional greeting, Granny asked "Is there something I can help you with?" For House Brownies did like making new friends and helping others where they could. Roslie went on to tell Granny on how she was new in the area. After all, she had been one of the "rescued" from the World of Whispers. "I discovered this great newspaper called the Bellwether and I am a bit was puzzled by this holiday coming up called Dragonfaust," Roslie asked. She went on to say on how she had been reading about the holiday and was wondering if Granny could help her understand it. She understood that Wish Dragons had been causing their usual chaos by granting these wishes for the young ladies for romance... but she couldn't understand the running and dragging part. One of the young maidens had heard of the tradition in the Outie's world called Sadie Hawkins day. It was where young ladies chased young men to capture them for marriage and then dragged them in front a minister, who would be happy to perform the wedding ceremony. Granny went on to explain how Fae who live a lot longer than Outies weren't usually looking for long-term commitments, but a fun way to meet the young males in the area did sound exciting to these young Fae. A group of the local females were able to convince those in the Village on the Wall that this would be a exciting adventure. There is nothing more enticing to a Fae than the word 'adventure'. So, that was how Dragonfaust was started.
"And that is how Dragonfaust day had evolved more in a 'girls night out'," Granny explained. Since eventually everyone ends up at the Sugar Plum Bakery, so the young lasses did finally find that the young lads in the area also enjoyed an evening out too. Roslie thought about what Granny had said for a moment and then asked a question no one else had thought about. "So what happens now that the Wish Dragons have returned?"
Roslie took a seat to get comfortable in and continued her exploration of this mysterious Realm of Wymsy's annual holiday. "Now to find out what this Dragonfaust is all about," she mumbled to herself. Reading silently she started to scan down the pages of the local newspaper, the Bellwether.
Roslie smiled with a slight blush and quickly nodded her head so it looked like she was reading. "Those silly Wish Dragons have been causing chaos for quite a while. Whoever heard of granting wishes for young lasses who want romance. The lasses would be better off asking for the cow that jumped over the moon for what Wish Dragons know about romance," she grumbled as she continued reading. "Ohhhh... now that is an interesting twist," smiled Roslie. "There seems to be some type of race or chase here. Something about dragging a lad across some Dragonfaust finish line. Who would be a good person to ask more about this holiday?"
"You knew it was the Siren's way to track the Captain so she would be able to find him and keep in trapped," Bohoj continued. Rose had to think about it for a minute before remembering all of the story, but soon it came to her. "I remember. He tricked the Siren into letting him go back to his ship to say goodbye and instead he took off. She cursed the ship's anchor. It was her intention that whenever he weighed anchor at any port, his ship would never be able to sail away and she would find him. As I also recall that if you hadn't seen the anchor glowing when she cast the curse, he would be a Siren's husband by now," she answered. "What about it?" "I have the anchor here with me," Bohoj said. "Could we use it for that portal anchor you mentioned while talking to that Granny person?"
As Rose walked around a large white boulder in this strange land of crystal and whiteness, she almost stumbled across something she never expected. A drunken sailor sleeping on the ground. Or at least she thought he must be drunk when she saw the empty bottle of rum laying on his chest and for a pillow his head was resting on a treasure chest. "How typical," she first thought until she realized that she recognized this sailor. "Bohoj! What are you doing here?" she yelled, waking the sleeper.
That is when Rosie and Roslie found them. At first Rose's helping hands sisters kept their distance from Bohoj as they were not sure of his intentions, but quickly Rose informed them that he was an old friend. "We will probably need his help to get out of this strange place we're stuck in," Rose told her 'sisters'. It was then that Rosie told Rose about her 'Heart Song attack' and her dream about using the teli-pone to talk to Granny Flare. It was when she mentioned the part about the Moon Dragon that made both Bohoj and Rose flinch. Hadn't they had enough with Wish Dragons granting wishes and getting them into this predicament to seek out another Dragon? Finally, after more discussion, Rose decided that they did not have many choices. Since the badd-erly on the teli-pone said it was charged, she pressed the buttons that had connected previously to Granny Flare's PEE-C. "Hello. Is this Rose?" asked the voice coming out of the teli-pone. "Hi Granny, this is Rose. Can you help us get back home?" Not wanting to run the badd-erly back down, Granny Flare quickly told Rose about a plan that the Moon Dragon, Dree, was working on. "We are hoping to see if we can bring you, Rose, and all of the others trapped in the World of Whispers home again," Granny Flare said. "We are still working out some of the problems in the plan, but are hoping to have it all in place very soon. Dree is now practicing with my Portal Key Stone but I fear that without some way to anchor the portal he won't be able to keep it open very long for everyone to make it home," Granny finished. It was then that the teli-pone started beeping again telling them that the badderly was almost out. "I've got to go and recharge the badderly," Rose told Granny. "I will call you back when it is ready again." "That would be great," Granny answered. "In the meantime, if you can think of a way to keep a portal open, let us know when we talk again." Before Rose could push the off button the teli-pone went dead and all of the lights went out. "Oh no!" cried Bohoj. "Now we can't get help from them."
"So its like a cold virus or worse - a case of the Spotted Meesils?" Roslie asked in trying to understand what her sister was feeling. "Oh, we all can get it Roslie. But sometimes the Heart Song can come in like a quiet flutter with just a tickle to it. Or sometimes it is so large, just like the attack I just had, that your body shakes with energy and the ideas are just jumping around in my head right now," Rosie went on trying to explain.
"The Heart Song can change people and even worlds. She said I need to understand it as we were going to need the energy of the Heart Song to help change this World of Whispers. That is also why I know it is so powerful that the Heart Song can even cross dimensions!" said Rosie as she grasped her sister's hands.
"A teli-pone needs electricity to recharge its 'badderly'" she told Rose. Rose did not know what a 'badderly' was, but as a magical elemental she understood electricity. All living things had some form of electricity as it was the power that made things work. Fingers moved, thoughts occurred, even magic used electricity in some manner, but how to put it into a 'badderly' could be a problem but Rose was not the type of fae to give up easily.
"This is Rose. I am stuck in some white world and am trying to find my way home. Who is this?" she asked the voice.
Now Granny Flare is a very practical house Brownie and normally would have thought that this was a practical joke, but when Rose mentioned the strange white world and making a wish, she knew what had happened since she had heard the story from Lil' Boots. It took a while, but by the time she was able to explain to Rose what she knew, the 'LOW POWER - RECHARGE' was flashing on the teli-pone again. "So typical, and I still don't know how to get out of here," she thought. "Granny, we need to recharge the teli-pone," Rose said. "Find out if you can bring us back and I will dial your number again after the 'badderly' is full and we have rested."
