Lil' Boots Got Plastered...

Dollmakers have a weird sense of humor or at least this dollmaker has.  So as my Lil' Boots survived (or made it through) his next stage of development, he thought he would share his perspective of this situation.

"Nothing is more fun than having your head upside down, hanging over a cup, and praying that your brains don't fall out," says Lil' Boots.  

From the dollmaker's perspective - This is where I had to plaster Lil' Boots eyes in so they stay permanently in place.

​Which requires me (as the dollmaker) to place the plaster inside his head to cover the back of his eyes that are only being held temporarily in place with wax.  Then needing to place the head upside down so the plaster dries in place and not slide off deeper into the head well.

Lil Boots - "It was nice to find a friend to share this experience with as this is all confusing and so strange.  She was even willing to hold my hand."

Dollmaker -  I don't often do more than one character at a time, but with the holidays and such I am also working on another character for a friend.  She hopefully will be a little fairy of Hope & Faith.

Lil Boots - "I am feeling a little stronger and more connected to my body.  After all, we are the only ones that know our body and how we feel."

Dollmaker - So, as I flesh out Lil' Boots with stuffing and material he comes more alive to me.  As one person reminded me today, our eyes are a window to our soul.  As soon as Lil' Boots received his eyes he received his soul.

Now it is time for me to finish up his body and move to the next stage of dressing him.  I can't wait to hear more of his story as he comes alive for me and hope you enjoy our experience together as well.
