If anyone (or anything) was watching The CAT at that moment, they would have seen him starting to become blurry and then vanish into thin air. Even The CAT didn't know how he did it, but he wasn't going to complain. It saved him a lot of walking. As he continued listening to his stomach, Hungry wondered why he was so focused on the pillow. It wasn't like he was that attached to it. "Maybe it is because the Dowager had been the one to give it to me," he thought as he remembered when she first gave it to him to sit on. Yes, it was comfortable to sit on, but he realized it was more than that. He 'needed' the pillow and deep down he didn't think that was the real reason for this powerful pull to find it. As Hungry tried to distract himself of thoughts about the missing pillow by remembering his favorite foods from the last time he visited the bakery, The CAT appeared suddenly on the trial in front of him. They both stumbled to a stop and just stared at each other - surprised when only an instance before the trail was empty.
Getting some of his confidence back, this time it did not take as long for The CAT to answer. "Hungry is it? Well, so am I." The Dragon smiled. "Your name is Hungry too?" It took a bit for The CAT to get Hungry to understand that his name was just 'The CAT', but by the time he did, The CAT realized that this Dragon was very literal. Deciding this might be fun after all now that he wasn't going to be eaten, The CAT started to ask the young Dragon about himself and was soon telling the Dragon tails (oops - tales) about being a cat. It wasn't very long before the Dragon and The CAT were talking like old friends until Hungry's stomach started to rumble again. The CAT had also been wondering how he was going to get the Dragon to the Wishing Well as all this thinking was certainly working up his appetite too. "A Sugar Plum cookie, with tea and my favorite pillow, wouldn't that be lovely?" groaned Hungry. Remembering the pillow that Sprigg'n had been carrying gave The CAT an idea. "If I might know where your pillow is," The CAT asked Hungry, "would you like to go get it? Maybe pick up a sweet along the way to eat too as long as it isn't me?" "That would be terrific!" smiled the Dragon. "Let's get started. Lead the way!" Soon they were strolling down the trail with Hungry following The CAT. "I wish we didn't have to walk everywhere," soon grumbled Hungry. "Why don't you fly... you have wings," answered The CAT. Stumbling to a halt, Hungry just stood and stared at The CAT muttering something that The CAT almost did not hear. "Why didn't I think of that..." "We'll be there soon enough," The CAT smiled at Hungry, thinking about how he had cleverly maneuvered the Dragon to where he wanted him to be - on his way to The Wishing Well.

Dewin mumbled as he remembered about that day long ago when he first met the Spite. As impossible as it may seem, at the same time Sprigg'n was also thinking about that fateful day. After that infamous wish was granted and the village was transported, Dewin saw the Spite following him as he left the village... "Go away and quit following me," Dewin growled at the Spite. The Spite just ignored him. Finally Dewin turned around and faced the Spite. "Who are you and why are you following me?" he demanded of the Spite. After just staring at Dewin for a minute, the Spite finally answered. "I am here because of you. You are part of the wish and the Flames of Magic have welded us together." "What does that mean... Flames of Magic?" Dewin asked. "When a Dragon egg is hatched, the stones that make up the nest are magically changed into crystals by magic. Each new crystal absorbs the loose magic released from the hatching. That is why both the Fae and Outies search for the crystals." "What does that have to do with you following me?" asked Dewin. Inspite of himself, Dewin was interested in what the answer might be. "Well?" "You must be really thick headed," answered the Spite, "and I thought you were a wizard. Because you were practicing magic at the time of the wish by a Wish Dragon the Flames of Magic has joined us all together. Where you go, I now go until the wish is changed or broken." "A wish can be broken?" Dewin uttered in surprise. "How can that happen?" Spite only looked at Dewin as she shook her head from side to side, "Wizards," was all she would mutter. As long ago when the conversation took place, Dewin could still remember the look of disgust on the Spite's face... Suddenly the Spite appeared on the trail in front of Dewin. "I have found him," she told the Wizard.
Everyone is reading all about it!!! Snoop got the scoop! The truth behind the strange sightings in the Wandering Woods (or at least the foot prints and strange lights anyway) has been discovered. Several days ago Snoop volunteered to search out the Woods to discover the strange reports that had been coming in. What he has discovered will change everything in the Realms and you are reading it here first!
Taking a break from his many duties at the stable, Scarlet was spending a minute reading the latest edition of the Bellwether. “Did you see this Meen?” asked the farrier to the jumping Pyksee. Before Meen could answer he continued, “Your Dragon friend has been discovered to be lose in the Woods and will be making an appearance at the Magical Wishing Well out back behind the King’s Castle today. Let’s go see how he’s been doing but first you should tell the Shadows' King.” … and yes readers, we too will have a representative of the Bellwether on hand at the meeting to keep you informed as to what transpires at the Magical Wishing Well.
Both sat down and stared at each other for a minute but shortly realized that the energy was growing again. Sprigg’n decided to test a theory by standing up and moving a little farther away from The CAT. The electrical build-up started to dissipate. “So, it is something about us being together,” thought the Spite. “I wonder what it could be.” As The CAT was thinking things over, Sprigg’n realized something. “You’re a SPITE!” she shouted as she jumped up. A funny look appeared on The CAT’s face as her comment as sunk in. “How could I be a Spite?” asked The CAT. “Spites only appear with a Wish Dragon and a wish.”
“I don’t know anything about being a Spite. What should I do?” inquired The CAT. For the first time in his life, he was confused and unsure of himself so it was a surprise that he was asking Sprigg’n for help. “I am only asking for her help since she has been a Spite for a long time and should know more about it,” he rationalized to make himself feel better as he did not like owing anyone anything. Sprigg’n sat back down and thought some more. Finally, she answered The CAT. “You should be able to feel the Wish Dragon to locate him. You need to go to him to find out if you are his Spite.” “Now why would I want to let a Dragon eat me?” replied The CAT. “No thanks!” “If you are his Spite, he won’t eat you! You dumb cat!” growled Sprigg’n. “He needs you as much as you will need him. If anything happens to the Dragon – it will also happen to you!” Now, that was a thought The CAT did not like. “Okay, I will find him, but what should we do after that?” he asked Sprigg’n. “I know a wizard who might be able to help. Do you know where the Magical Well is?” As The CAT nodded his head in the affirmative, Sprigg’n continued. “Take him to there and we will meet you.” As Sprigg’n started to leave, she heard The CAT mutter, “You better be right about not being eaten…” before he too disappeared. Neither had realized that they had been overheard by another…
