As the crystal holding the Shadows' King, Hungry, and The CAT begins to crack more, allowing the blue haze to dissipate into the air, the others outside the crystal abruptly stopped singing with even a few starting to step back away from the collapsing crystal.  "What is happening to them?" whispered Arnie loud enough for  Goodie2shues to hear.
"This is where we see if the recipe is right," answered the Goodie sister, "and if all goes well, the Wish Dragon will have undergone a transformation.  This is rare and if enough magic is not released to finish the recipe, then the mixture will fail."
It was then that enough of the haze had disappeared that everyone could see what was happening inside the egg.  Both Hunter and The CAT were standing near the Wish Dragon, but the little Dragon had changed.  Hungry had grown and turned blue!  From the top of his head to the bottom of his claws - even his eyes were now a shade of blue.  As most were looking at Hungry, it was the Goodie sisters that noticed the small magical portal opening behind the Dragon.  "It will need more magic," each of the Goodie Sisters thought, but it would take more than they possessed to finish the transformation.
It was then that Dulbbe looked at Ffion and realized she was still glowing blue from the Goodies magic - the same color as the Wish Dragon.  With his time in the Shadows King library and listening to the green Dragon orb, he suddenly put some of the pieces of this puzzle together.  "No," he uttered as he rushed to her side.  "You can't do this!"  This act did not go unnoticed by the Shadows' King.
Picture
He had been watching Ffion through the crystal egg and already saw that his beloved daughter was approaching closer to the egg with the blue lights glowing around her.  It was the time for him to act or lose his daughter forever.  There had never been a choice, he knew what he must do.  Stepping to the edge of the crystal egg, he started pushing his magic into it!  Slowly, as as his magic swirled around in a circle, it began to expand... larger... and larger... and finally large enough to reach his hand through it.
"Daughter, a young fae sacrificed herself to give magic to the dragons, I will not have you do the same," pleaded the King to Ffion.  He reached out his hand taking hers.  As soon as that happened the blue lights flowed into Hunter's hand turning him blue.
"Hungry," Hunter told the Wish Dragon, "The Portal requires magic for magic.  This was what was required for the young fae that first gave her magic to the dragons and why I told you the tale.  When I step through the portal it will finish your transformation and begin your destiny.  If I don't, you and the magic in the Realm will perish!"
Picture
At first Hungry was scared.  It was The CAT that saved the day.  "Come'on... If you perish, I'll be out of a job," said The CAT to Hungry as he took the Dragon's paw.  Suddenly there was a small commotion outside the egg that occurred in the crowd.  It was Druzzy, the Troll King!  He was clutching his crown, trying to hold it on to his head, though he looked like he was being pulled by it as if it was trying to enter the egg.
"Ah, that's where the Dragon tablet went," thought Dulbbe as he stood behind Ffion's with one hand keeping her from going to the portal.  For when the portal appeared, she had been slowly pulled towards it.  If it wasn't for Dulbbe holding her back while the King held her hand, by this point she too might have entered it with the Dragon.
"No!  You can't have it!" yelled Druzzy.  "I need it for my revenge," he screamed as he continued to cling to his crown with the Dragon tablet hidden inside as it pulled him towards the egg.  Even the Gooblin King was startled by what was happening.  "Let it go Druzzy," hollered Hir'aeth.  "It's just a thing... let it go!"  Glaring at the Gooblin King, Druzzy just smiled as he continued to clutch his crown, "Don't you wish.  I will win this round!"  It was then that three things happened all in a blink of a Dragon's eye.  The Shadows' King let go of Ffion's hand and with a wave pulled the Dragon tablet towards him.  He then stepped through the portal with the tablet following him... with a Troll King still holding on while the crystal egg shattered in a bright glittering glow like fireflies dancing in the evening.  As Druzzy was being pulled into the portal, grabbing anything to stop the pull of the King, he grabbed The CAT's tail which pulled the CAT in as well.
As Ffion watched her father, she saw him giving her one final look as he whispered "I love you" as the blinding flash occurred.
When everyone could see again, standing alone where the crystal once was, is Hungry, the Wish Dragon... but no longer a Wish Dragon as he has completed the transformation.  The Shadows' King had said that when Hungry ate the blue rose he would no longer be hungry and now he wasn't.  He was now a Moon Dragon, the rarest and most powerful Dragon that ever lived.

The CAT'S Tail...

We know what was happening outside - but what was happening inside of the crystal?  When the Goodie sisters had run off with Ffion to their cottage to begin the ritual and the others who were at the great transformation were staring at the large crystal in the garden wondering where Hunter, the Shadows' King, and Hungry, the Wish Dragon had disappeared too - The King and Hungry were keeping each other company inside the egg.
"Hungry," Hunter whispered to the little dragon, "Don't be afraid as I am here to help you."  The king continued, "First, let me tell you a story about how dragons got their terrific powers... where it all started..."  As the Shadows' King told Hungry how a Nyte Shade had given her powers to her dragon friend he also was trying to keep the Dragon calm so that he would not realize that the two of them were subtly changing and trapped inside of a large crystal.  As the tale was being told, the Troll King, Druzzy, was standing by a tree and thinking of ways to get out of the garden with the Dragon tablet he had hidden under his crown.
"The power this tablet has," thought Druzzy.  "If it can even make the Shadows' King disappear and a Dragon, I can't wait to use it for my revenge!"  Most everyone else in the garden was still looking at the crystal and wondering what the Goodie sisters were up to, but not everyone.  Dulbbe had noticed that the Dragon tablet was no longer where it was supposed to be.  "It has to be with either the Troll King or the Gooblin King, no one else would  have taken it," Dulbbe thought to himself.
Picture
Dulbbe the Shadows King's scribe
The problem was he did not know which one did and a lowly bookkeeper does not accuse a King of taking something.  "I will have to make sure neither leave with it before this is over," he realized.  Making sure of how to do that was simple he quickly decided.  Walking over to the Gooblin King he whispered, "Did you notice how King Druzzy keeps looking around.  I wonder what he is up to."  This started the Gooblin King to watch the Troll King even more than normal.  "Now all I have to do is keep an eye on the Gooblin King," thought Dulbbe, "since then he will be watching the Troll King."
By the time Hunter finishes his tale to Hungry,  the Goodies had returned and were beginning their ritual with Ffion and The CAT.  It is then that the Wish Dragon realized he was trapped inside of a crystal cocoon surrounded in a blue mist.  At first startled, he stood up hitting his head.  That is when the crack appeared throwing off the Goodie's spell and causing the release of the blue ooze.   "Ouch!" Hungry yelled as he reached for the top of his head.  Trying not to smile, Hunter took one of Hungry's hands and told him to relax.  "This crystal shell will not last much longer. Look, there is already a crack in it," Hunter said as he pointed to the crack.  As they were looking at it, something else started to appear inside of the crystal with them.  Whatever it was looked like it had been stretched quite thin and shoved through the small crack.  As they both moved back as far as they could, The CAT appeared (not looking too pleased ) in front of them.  "I don't ever want to do that again!" The CAT growled when he fully materialized.
Happy that his Spite was with him, Hungry moved up to give The CAT a hug.  Too surprised to get away, The CAT let the Wish Dragon hug him (but only briefly) before telling him that was enough.  "Not in front of the King," he whispered in Hungry's ear as he was being squeezed.
Hunter only watched them, trying to hide his sad smile, before either saw it.  "If things go right, then you two will be both be changed forever," thought the King.  Also knowing that if things did not go right, all of them would be changed forever but not in a way each would have liked...
Outside of the crystal and in the garden, Ffion, the Goodie sisters, and Hewy have joined hands as Hewy begins to sing.  Soon, the others joined the circle and as the music became louder, everyone was holding hands and singing as they circled the large blue glowing crystal.  Even Druzzy had to join in as Hir'aeth had grabbed his hand so he could not disappear.
Inside the crystal, The CAT, having the keenest of hearing, all of a sudden perked up his ears.  "Do you hear that?" he asked the others.  Before they could answer he continued, "Hewy is singing."  In a minute all three of them could hear the singing since it no longer was just Hewy.  "It sounds like a whole bunch of Twitter Birds," thought the Dragon and he soon was tapping his foot to the beat of the music.  Things were going along smoothly until Hungry accidently tapped too hard - on The CAT's tail!  Leaping into the air, The CAT startled Hungry who stood up completely and again hit his head on the crystal ceiling in their cocoon causing the crack to start getting even bigger and spreading.
Picture
"Now it either begins or ends..." thought Hunter as the crystal cocoon started to crumble and the blue haze around the hidden inner portal dissipated out the crack.  For the King knew that it was going to take all of his power to help the Wish Dragon transform into his destiny.  Just as told in the tale of old, a sacrifice would need to be made.  But could the King do what was required of him?

In the belly...

The bright flash of light was still blinding to those standing around during the magical transformation that was happening in the Shadows' King's garden.  Suddenly, swirly sparkling blue flames surrounded The CAT.  Being the little Wish Dragon's Spite with a loud whoosh he was pulled from the joined hands of the Goodie sisters and into the crack of the large crystal egg.
As Goodiegood regains her balance she notices Goodie2shues off to her right but can't see her other sister.  "Where is Goodie4U?" she yells to her sister Goodie2shues. The youngest sister shaking her head as she is still confused by what has happened with their spell, shrugs her shoulders and just looks at her sister.  Realizing that she doesn't know either, Goodiegood continued, "We have to get these blue flames under control for if they spread to those helping us here, it will drive them into become Creatures of Chaos!"
As the two sisters were trying to decide what to do, the blue flames starts to flow from the cracked crystal and slowly spreading out landing on the others in the garden.  Soon it is in their hair, gliding over their feet, and starting to creep up their legs which starts them to snarl and growl at each other.  As the blue flames continue to spread, Goodie4U appears from across the garden.  She has noticed that it appeared that her sisters were still unaffected by the blue flame but it would only be a matter of time before that would change.  Deciding to take the chance, she starts walking very fast toward them.  She couldn't run to their side as she was holding the solution to the problem and didn't want to drop it.
"It was a good thing that I listen to my dreams," thought Goodie4U, "when I saw something like this was going to happen."  Since the second Goodie sister had the good luck to know what might happen at this ritual from her dream,  she had already stashed away what she needed in order to beat out the flames of Chaos.
"One of the most frustrating parts of being a Seer is that one must keep quiet about the future and let it play out in order not to change the events,"  Goodie4U grumbled to herself.
She had known - even to the point of not being able to tell her sisters - that in order for them to bring their recipe for success together she could not say a word to any of them.  As soon as the sisters had started their spell, Goodie4U knew she hadn't any more time than what it took to lick a spoon before chaos was going to burst forth.  She had dashed off to where she had hidden her supplies and then reconstituted them into what she now held... a Moonflower cake!
Picture
As Goodie4U approaches her sisters with the cake in her hands, calmly she tells them, "This is a Moonflower cake that we can use to fight off the 'moon sickness' that had escaped from the cracked crystal and has begun to infect everyone."  Quickly all the Goodie sisters start slicing and serving.  Once everyone had eaten a bite and were no longer hangry (a combination of angry and hungry), they all  turned to the Sisters for guidance.
Goodiegood, as the eldest sister, spoke first.  "We have gone down into the belly of Chaos and overcame it.  The prophecy of the Realm being destroyed has passed, but we still have a new life needing our help to come forth for the wellbeing of our Realm."
As soon as Goodiegood finished, Goodie2shues turns to Hewy and continues.  "Hewy, please sing your song of hope as this is a time of renewal for all of us."
Picture
And to complete the circle,  Goodie4U continued the request as she turned to the rest of the crowd.  "And for those trapped inside of the crystal egg.  They must hear all of us, so sing with Hewy and let your voices be heard!"  As Hewy started singing, the others soon joined in filling the little garden with song - loud enough for the others not to hear Goodiegood whisper to herself, "For it is lying just beneath the surface, waiting to burst forth."

A Spell Goes Wrong...

"Oh!  I see the missing ingredient!"  shouts out Goodiegood as she starts running after it.  The Goodie sisters and Ffion had just arrived back in the Shadow's King garden after having left the Nytemares to Scarlet to take back to the stables.  Ffion was still glowing blue from the ritual they had performed on her back at their cottage and the others were still standing around in the garden now staring at Ffion in amazement.
"We need to hurry!" replied Goodieg2shues.  "Go grab him!"
"Him???  Him who," thought The CAT who had been prowling around the edge of the garden, wondering about the magical mayhem that was going on here.  He had felt the energy shift and no longer could feel Hungry, the little Wish Dragon.  Being the Spite of a Wish Dragon was still a new experience for The CAT.  It took another Spite, Sprigg'n Mac-talla, to teach him that as a Spite he was supposed to watch out and help (well maybe not quite as much) keep his Dragon out of trouble.  Again, wondering why he could not feel Hungry, is when Goodiegood ran up to him and grabbed his paw.
Goodiegood looked into The CAT's eyes and said, "Hungry needs you now like never before.  You are that missing ingredient.  We can't save him without you."
"Do WHAT???" replied The CAT.
"You are Hungry's Spite and we need you to help finish the ritual we began with Ffion at the cottage.  You are all connected,"  Goodiegood answered.
As The CAT was deciding, Goodie4U is shouting over all the chatter that the rest of the crowd is making in their confusion of trying to understand what is happening.  Only one is not saying anything, Druzzy, the Troll King.  He has been standing in the background trying to figure a way out of the garden without anyone noticing him leave since he was still hiding the forgotten Dragon tablet under his crown.  "I have got to get this tablet away from here," he was telling himself.  "The power it will give me!"
"We need to finish this ritual that began with the Dragon tablet and the Shadows' King before it's too late.  Hewy, you know the music you need to sing.  Feel it inside and let it flow around us."
Goodiegood directed Ffion, her sisters, and The CAT to stand around the Crystal Egg.  As they joined hands, the egg started to crack a little more.  "Hurry Hewy with the music, it will calm the beast inside," Goodiegood yelled back to the Troll who was still trying to figure out what he would sing.
When the sisters joined hands with Ffion and The CAT, the blue light that had been glowing around Ffion started leaving her hands.  It glowed and flowed around the egg like a snake circling around it's prey.  Up and around, always moving, curling around until the crystal explodes into a blast of blue light.  "Oh No!" exclaims Goodie2shues looking at Goodiegood.  "Our spell has gone wrong!" replied Goodiegood.
Picture
"The blue ooze is chaos," yelled Goodiegood as her ears were still ringing from the spell exploding, "and if it spreads it will contaminate the others and turn them into crazy mad creatures!"
"There must be some way to fix this!" Goodie2shues yelled back.  "Where is Goodie4U?"  she continued.
Since Goodie4U is the sister who knows "what" is going to happen when she is 'seeing'... do you think she might have cooked up a way of fixing this???

Making Plans. . .

As Arnie was thinking of the things she could do to the Wysp if it was tricking her again, others in the Realms were also making plans...

"Awena, now that my son is heading back to the mansion, what is it that you are not telling me?" asked the Dowager.  "After I read the story of the Nyte Shades, you changed slightly.  Others would not have noticed, but I have known you long enough to tell when there is something wrong.  What is it old friend?"

At first Awena could not look directly at Griselda but after a moment she lifted her head up and spoke.
"There is a prophecy about the Nyte Shades and I believe you are part of it.  It was written long ago and is not very clear, but from what the Sleeping Sisters have determined about it's contents there are a Dragon, a Nyte Shade, and a Fae who will hold the key to the little Wish Dragon's fate."
Picture
After a short pause, Awena continued in a low voice, "I believe that Fae could may be you as you were the one who was able to open the enchanted book when no others could."
"I feel that you are wrong, but tell me more about this prophecy," answered the Dowager.  "There are so many other Fae involved in this mess with the Dragon tablet that you must be wrong."  So, as Awena and Griselda discuss the prophecy, others were also busy...
Picture
"Sir, what are we doing here in this dark part of troll town?" asked Fiddlefaddle quietly as he leaned into the Baron so no one might overhear him.

"Come on Fiddlefaddle!" chided the Baron.  "We have to go in to talk to Hewy.  I heard he was still playing  rock and roll with a band here at the Goat Troll Tavern."  He might be able to tell us more about the Borrower.  Also we need to hurry so we can get back to the Mansion before mom realizes that I did not go directly back after leaving her with Awena."
"Sir, are you sure this is the best option?  I have checked with some of our old friends and only one of them said that the Troll King was looking for the Borrower," asked Fiddlefaddle, the Baron's faithful BAT man.
Picture
"I still think that checking with Drat (the Troll King's top minion) might be more beneficial," he continued.
"Come on you scaredy-cat!  If we talk to any the Troll King's minions or the Gooblin King's, then they will know what we are doing.  Now, just follow my lead," said the Baron as he walked into the Troll bar right past the sign that read "Aged Goat's Milk Today's Special - 100 Proof" as they looked for Hewy...

"Has anyone seen Hungry lately?" asked Dewin to the others who had volunteered to be one of the Wish Dragon's teachers.  "He did not shown up for his Belching Lessons this morning and you all know that he needs to learn the delicateness of control."

"Do you blame him?  You should be teaching him something useful, like how to fly.  So what if Hungry makes huge fires because he can't control his belching?  I don't know why anyone would  want to control belching."  The CAT thought as he rubbed his tummy thinking of a tasty meal or two.
So where was Hungry?  At the moment, he was hiding behind a tree and waiting for Nemmer and Scarlet to walk past his hiding spot.  He had seen the two of them walking down the trail and he was not in the mood to have to answer any more questions.  Questions, questions, questions were all that he had heard in the past several days.  Every one of his teachers always asking him questions and expecting him to have the right answers (at least according to them).  It was a bright sunny day and he wanted play for a while. The problem was, who to play with that would not tell him that he needed to go back to school... "I bet Meen could teach me Leap Frogg'n instead.  Now that is my type of lesson!" Hungry finally decided.

Gossip is flying around...

While Drat was giving his report to the King of the Trolls, Druzzy, about the tablet left behind by the Dragons, The CAT had been watching Hungry, the little Wish Dragon.  The CAT was overseeing Hungry and Sprigg'n as they were practicing magical displacements.  They were taking turns making leaves disappear from one bush and re-appearing on another.
It may sound easy, but a lot of concentration was required, even for a magical being especially when distracted by the flutterbys.
Picture
To read more about Flutterbys
"Can't we take a break Sprigg'n?" asked Hungry.  "I am getting hungry and every time my stomach rumbles..." just then his stomach gave out another loud growl.  The CAT started laughing as Sprigg'n just shook her head from side-to-side.  "You had better let him eat otherwise you never know what kind of bush you will end up with," snickered The CAT.
"Okay, Okay.  Let's take a break," Sprigg'n told them.  As they ate, Hungry asked about his other friends and had anything new happened in the Realm.  As a student the little Dragon had very little time to visit with anyone who was not one of his teachers and most of them focused more on the lesson than on play or gossip.  That is, except for Sprigg'n.
Picture
The Spite had always liked to listen to the gossip of the twitter birds when she wasn't teasing Dewin, the Wizard, about something.  "It's not well known yet, but the twitter birds are twittering about some tablet that was found by the 'borrowers'," Sprigg'n  whispered to The CAT and Hungry as they leaned in towards her to hear better.  "Nobody has said what is on the tablet, but it is supposed to date back to before the Dragons left the Realms," Sprigg'n continued in a low voice as she didn't want to spread this juicy gossip too far around.
When Sprigg'n said the word 'Dragons', Hungry stopped eating and with longing in his eyes for more juicy news to feed on, asked the Spite.  "Who are the 'borrowers' and what's so special about a tablet?"  Before Sprigg'n could answer, The CAT jumped into telling Hungry about the 'borrowers'.
"We call them the 'borrowers' as few know their real name.  They are called 'borrowers' because that is what they do.  If they see something that interests them, they 'borrow' it.  They don't consider it stealing because either they leave something else behind or more likely they lose interest in the thing and usually return what they "borrowed" to where it was 'found'."  Before Sprigg'n could add what she knew, The CAT continued, "and this 'found' tablet was supposed to have been written by a Dragon!  It seems it was written before they all left and hidden away never to be seen again until you arrived."
"Do you think I will get to see the tablet?" asked Hungry.  The CAT and Sprigg'n looked at each other, shrugged, and continued to eat their lunch, but while Hungry was eating, his mind was still on the tablet.  "Maybe it can tell me something about why the Dragons left - leaving me behind," he thought.

Burnt Out...!!

Picture
Hewy needed to check on Hungry, the little Dragon, especially after being "asked" by the Troll King to find him. As he followed the trail to Cornelia's cottage, (since that is where Hungry was staying) his thoughts were concentrated on what had just happened at the Troll King's court.  "Why does the King really want to meet Hungry?" he pondered.  He knew that Druzzy was up to no good, but he just could not see what he wanted from the young Wish Dragon.  "I need to talk to the others," he mumbled deciding that was his best course and wondering what was causing this smoke in the air?  The smoke seemed to be coming from the direction of Cornelia's cottage!  He quickened his pace and after realizing that it WAS coming from the cottage he started running towards the smoke.
Smoke was rolling out of the windows and the door. Fearing for his friends he was just about to run into the cottage when he saw Cornelia, Efem, The CAT, and Hungry all standing near the bee hives.  As usual, The CAT was just looking at everything and smiling, Efem and Cornelia were both coughing and wiping their watering eyes, and Hungry, if a Dragon can look apologetic and embarrassed, was wringing his front paws together saying that he was really, realllllly sorry.
Picture
"Is everyone okay?  Where's the water buckets and I will start trying to put the fire out!" asked Hewy as he started towards the well.
"Hewy, It's fine.  The fire is out," Efem was finally able to tell him after she had stopped coughing.  Cornelia grumbled, since Efem was coughing again, "We have found out that when Hungry gets excited, he spits a little fire and a lot, and I do mean a lot, of smoke."
It took Hewy a minute before he realized what was happening, then since everyone was okay, he started laughing.   This is when The CAT joined in as he also thought it was funny.  Knowing that he was Hungry's Spite, The CAT was enjoying both being fed by Cornelia and Efem as well as the entertainment of these Wish Dragon's lessons.  Hewy, soon realizing that both of the Dryads were not as amused as him, quickly stopped laughing but still could not take the smile from his lips.
"And to what do we owe this visit from you today?" growled Efem as she wiped the tears from her eyes.  "You are not scheduled to be Hungry's teacher for another couple of weeks."
Having almost forgotten his reason for the visit, Hewy quickly told them of his meeting with the King of the Trolls and his concerns.  "I agree Hewy, he is up to no good," answered Efem.  "The question is, what do we do?"
"I have been thinking about that and the best I can come up with is to send Hungry somewhere for a while so Druzzy won't be able to find him until we find out what he is wanting," answered Hewy.  "The problem is that I can't think of anyplace safe and where he won't be seen."
Picture
It was The CAT that came up with the answer.  "Well, since your places aren't fireproof," smiled The CAT, "Why not send him to Dewin's for his lessons a little early?  With the shabby way your homes are built, at least the cave won't burn down..."  With the withering stares he received from both Efem and Cornelia, for once The CAT did not finish his sentence.  Standing up and slinking away, Hewy could hear The CAT muttering something like, "sure, blame the cat..."
Now Dewin, being a wizard, had given the others each a crystal to communicate with him over long distances so they could keep in touch.  They decided that would be the best for Hungry and after the smoke cleared, went back inside of the cottage  where they told Dewin about their concerns and request.  Shortly Sprigg'n, the Spite that had attached herself to the wizard upon his arrival to the Realm, arrived and they (Hungry, The CAT, and Sprigg'n) were off to the safety of Dewin's cave.
As they left and Hewy watched them crest the first hill and disappear from sight, Hewy finally felt that Hungry would soon be safe... ahhh, but will he?  There seems to be others who also wish to see the Wish Dragon and not all of them from just curiosity.  "Now," wondered Hewy, "in the meantime where I am going to disappear until this blows over?"

Singing in the chaos...

"A Wish Dragon?  Hungry here is a Wish Dragon and I am his Spite?" growled The CAT.  "And there is some prophecy?  Is that what you were singing Hewy?"  Hewy nodded his head to the surprised feline.  "Okay, so I can understand this right... could you sing the prophecy again Hewy?"  The troll slowly started his melody again with the first part of the prophecy.
Picture
"When the last of the Wish Dragyns are lost
and is starving for knowledge at any cost;
will choices be made by many
that will bring the Realms to despair or to plenty. "
Picture
"Now wait a minute.  Sorry to interrupt but I am trying to figure this out," cut in The CAT.  "If Hungry is the last of the Wish Dragons and he has been lost for this whole time... sounds like to me that he would certainly be starving.  Also sounds like he might be in need of a teacher too.  Okay, please continue."
Hewy then continued his song.
Picture
"Which way will it sway and who will triumph none yet can foretell
but for good to win the evil must not prevail;
for if evil wins forever magic will be changed or lost
and the Realms will suffer at the cost."
Picture
"Whoooh!" said The CAT.  "That sure sounds like the wizard here.  He almost prevailed with trying to get his wish.  Not that I am saying you are evil, mister wizard, as I don't know you that well.  But it sounded like to me that the wish you were asking for could have changed things not only here in this Realm but where you were from too."
Dewin, hung his head and nodded.  "I hadn't really thought about what my wish could do.  I was just angry and wanted to go back to where I had come from.  Now I can see that maybe fate put me here for a reason," answered the wizard slightly raising his eyes to look at Hungry.
Excited, Hewy sang the next line of the prophecy.  "For in the telling of this tale a musician must play' - that sounds like me," exclaimed Hewy getting caught up in the solving of the prophecy.  "But who would be the - 'as the dryad who has forsaken it's way'?"
Picture
Picture
Parsley raised her hand and told the others that it could possibly mean her.  "I left the ways of the Tree Mothers to become the herbalist I am today.  Though I don't see why that would make a difference?"
"The troll will mend what was once broken, " Hewy continued.  "Apparently that is me also as I am the only Troll here.  The sole thing I had broken was my heart when the love of my life left, but that was healed when I saw Awena again.  This last line still confuses me though," said Hewy as he sang the next part.
"As they both must gain the Dragyn 's token."
Excited about how the prophecy was coming together, Hungry pipped in, "That is easy.  A Dragon's token is his trust.  Nothing is more important to a Dragon than knowing who to trust."
As the others thought about what Hungry had just said, Hewy wrapped up the prophecy by singing the last stanza.
Picture
Picture
"For if this does not happen another will sway
the young mind which will drift away;
and from the lack of knowledge will the choice then be
for the Dragyn will  grant the destructive plea."

Silently everyone gathered around the little Wish Dragon.  Dewin was the first to speak.  "I am sorry for misleading you Hungry.  I just wanted to go home, not realizing that maybe I am already there."  After that, everyone agreed that Hungry needed to learn more about the powers of the Wish Dragon.  It was decided that Hewy and Parsley, having gained the Dragon's trust, would be responsible for starting those lessons.  The CAT was happy he was also going to be returning to familiar surroundings, as he now had to have lessons too apparently as the Dragon's Spite.
Sprout was thrilled to hear that Hungry was going to be heading home with him as her heard his mother tell the Wish Dragon that she would be his teacher.  Until Parsley added, “and you will not be alone for Sprout will take classes with you.”  “WHAT?” exclaimed the startled Dryad.

So now that the little Dragon was found, and the prophecy seemed to have been fulfilled, everyone decided they could all return to their homes.  Of course a stop by the Sugar Plum Bakery on their way didn't sound to bad too.  "I wonder where Nemmer is?" thought Cornelius as they started to leave.  As luck would have it, Nemmer had forgotten all about getting to The Wishing Well (he had bumped into some Dusty Mytes who had sprayed him out of habit with the forgetful dust) and too was on his way home.
It was only The Wishing Well who noticed after everyone had left Snoop rushing from the bushes he had been hiding in to hurry back to the Bellwether to get out the scoop of his career.  A Dragon had returned to the Realms!!!

When is a good wish bad???

“Hungry, if you are this prophecy Dragon, then all you have to do is not do evil,” Dewin told the young Wish Dragon.

“You mean that if I tell myself that I am not going to do anything evil, then evil can’t win?” eagerly asked Hungry.  “I can do that!”
Before Dewin could continue though, the least likely member of the group replied to the Dragon.
“I am afraid it doesn't work that way.  I have tried but no matter how much I try to do something, it somehow always seems to not come out the exact way I pictured it to be,” answered The CAT.  “Look Hungry, bad things can happen even when trying to do good.”
Dewin had his own plan here and being interrupted by this CAT wasn't helping it, but before he could stop The CAT, another spoke first.
“You're his Spite!” Sprigg’n exclaimed excitedly at The CAT.  “I wasn’t sure at first, but after listening to you speak, the feelings we experienced when we first met, and now meeting Hungry, I realize that you ARE his Spite. That is Good... I think."
“What do you mean 'his Spite'?” Hungry and The CAT, both being surprised and confused, replied together.  Now everyone was listening for Sprigg'n's answer, even the Wizard.  Since Sprigg'n still hadn't answered, Dewin asked again,  "What do you mean?  How is The CAT the Wish Dragon's Spite?  You told me before that Spites only appear with a Wish Dragon and a wish."
Shaking her head at the wizard, Sprigg’n finally answered.  “Hungry and The CAT were both born at the same time.  Hungry must have been from a wish that was answered, and don’t ask me how it was answered or by whom cause I don’t know.  But, The CAT is Hungry’s Spite, take it from me.”
“But what does that mean?” pleaded the Dragon.  “Will he help me make the right choices so that evil won't reign?”
At that comment, everyone but Dewin (who did not know The CAT as well as the others did) started to laugh.  After wiping the tears from her eyes, Efem answered the confused little Dragon.  “I am sorry to have laughed Hungry, but The CAT is not known for his helping others nor making, as you said it, ‘the right choices’ very often.  He actually is a handful of mischief on most of his good days and a lot more on his bad ones.”  Quickly she added, with a more serious tone, “but today he has surprised me with his answer to you.  He is correct that bad things happen even with the best intentions and that each of us must understand that we are ultimately responsible for our own actions, be they good or bad,” as she reached down to give The CAT a hug.

Seeing that the conversation was not going where he had hoped, Dewin spoke.  "Hungry, as a Wish Dragon, you have the power to create things for good just as easily as evil.  Let us say hmmm... that you maybe granted me a wish to send me back to my world.  I was transported here without my consent many years ago and want to go home."
“That is terrible!  I know I would not like that either.  You should be allowed to go back,” Hungry replied.  Smiling, the wizard thought his plan just might work after all.  “All you have to do is wish me back,” he urged the Wish Dragon on.
Before Hungry could grant the wish though, Hewy jumping in with a loud "NO!" which distracted everyone.  "Is that why you have been looking for this Dragon, Wizard?" Hewy stared at Dewin.  But before he could answer, Hewy turned to the little Dragon and said "Hungry, before returning Dewin to his own land think about what could be the downside of his wish.  It could just as easily be that he will loose all the magic he has accumulated while here or that his life may end. The magic here has kept him alive for far longer than he normally would have lived in his own realm.”
Dumbfounded, the Wizard realized he had never thought of that!  “Hewy, you may be right.  By breaking the original spell, I could revert to the same state I was in when I was transported here.”  Glancing at Sprigg’n, Dewin realized that the Spite was looking directly at him and slightly nodding her head.  “You knew?” he asked her.
With all of these realizations, Hungry was now even more worried about who and what he was.  “Now I REALLY don’t want to be a Wish Dragon!”…

The Dragon is Hungry!

Before Hungry had a chance to even put the last cookie in his mouth, Sprout piped in, “Hey... What choices Hewy, are you talking about to be made? And what about that part about despair or plenty? Is that plenty of food?  How can Hungry be the cause of any despair?  He’s my friend… he wouldn’t hurt anyone,” as Sprout turned toward his Dragon friend.

Parsley smiled at her son as she answered his question.
“Sprout, listen to the next two parts of the prophecy as it helps explains part of the mystery.  Certain things need to happen and then Hungry will have to make a choice.  It will be that choice which Hungry makes that will could cause either plenty or despair.  Hungry may not even know what will happen because of his decision.  It may be something that will happened in the future or immediately.  We won’t know until it happens.”
“What things, Mom?” asked the young Dryad.
“Hewy is well known in the Realms as a master musician.  He has already played out the first part by singing us the prophecy.  Though I don’t know for sure about the Dryad who has forsaken its way, and I am also not sure about what Hewy has to mend let alone what the Dragon’s token is,” she told Sprout.  “Maybe the others might have figured it out as I haven’t,” she said as she looked at the others to see if anyone did have the answers.
“But Mom, what happens if the rest of the prophecy doesn't happen?  Does it mean that Hungry is not the Dragon?”  Now that question took Parsley by surprise.  “Does it?” she thought.
Before the others could say anything, Hewy again spoke.  “I have been thinking about that too and it sounds like Hungry is more than just hungry for food but also for knowledge.   Maybe it is who will teach him the power of the Wishing that will cause the evil?”

Hearing this, the young Wish Dragon suddenly realized that if he could grant wishes, his first wish was to be anywhere else.  Bowing his head, he quietly told the others that he did not want to be a Wish Dragon anymore.
“Hungry, I am sorry, but it doesn’t work that way,” Cornelia replied.  “You are what you are, but remember, it's your intention that will make the difference.  Your intentions  and maybe the help of your friends.  Do you intend to harm the realms?” she asked.
“No!  No, I love it here.  I don’t want anything to happen to anyone here.  I don’t wish harm to Scarlet nor the Nytemares, or Acorn, or Meen, or any of the others I have made friends with.  What should I do?” Hungry inquired – now not really asking just Cornelia but the entire group.
Dewin seeing his chance spoke up as he approached the young Dragon.  “Hungry, you don’t know me.  I am a wizard.  My name is Dewin and maybe I can help you.  I have been thinking about the prophecy a lot since Passporte’ told me about it and I think I know what you should do…”
