I finally did it... I cut up my mother's wedding dress. Now one might ask why I did this... why to preserve it of course. Somewhere through the course of my life I have become the holder or caretaker of several generations of wedding dresses in my family. I am a little confused as to what to do with them. It isn't like in ages past where the up-coming generation of females in a family will look to them to wear for their own weddings. And having only boys in my immediate family kind of nulls that option too. This year has been a year of examining our history and looking to the future as what to do with them. I finally decided that even though I wasn't close to my great grandmother (that simply being by default of age), I had to preserve her dress. Which is kind of neat because I also have my great grandfather's shirt that he wore for the wedding. That is now one shadow box that my kids will just have to deal with later. With this kinda of inspiration, I had to ask, then why am I still hanging on to a wedding dress that no one will ever wear or see? Again, dolls to the rescue. It is amazing how they are such a great vehicle for preserving and showcasing our history. In this age of digital information and everything being stored on a computer it is still nice to have the opportunity to "actually touch" history. This only occurs when we preserve some of those artifacts that we received throughout our history.

Pumpkin Pie... Gluten Free and Dairy Free Ingredients for the Crust
After filling the uncooked pie shells with the pie filling, I then place them in the oven at 350 degrees for approximately 45-50 minutes. All that is left now is to figure out how to make the soy whipping cream...
"More tea?” asked Dragonia as she stood before the Earl of Grey ready to pour. “Please, the little red speckled sandwiches are sweet and the green teacakes are salty,” she continued before he could answer.
Could he get her to reveal what was making her act so? “I don’t know if a meeting is really necessary. We all know it is a hopeless case without the Dragons' revenue so what is there really to talk about?” he slowly replied. Snoop watched her purse her lips before she answered, “Aahh, she does have something to hide” he realized. “Perhaps I have a way to improve our situation Snoop,” she said “but I want to present the possibility to all of the council at once.” Again, pausing to see if she would reveal more, he waited to see if she would continue. When she did not, he realized if he was to find out more he would have to ‘snoop’ around for himself. “I will be happy to hear your presentation at the meeting of the council Baroness, but now I must be going. Many things to do and people to see before the next edition of the paper goes to print. Have a pleasant day.” Pushing his glasses back from the bridge of his nose and donning his hat, he arose to take his leave.
Snoop, (or as my hubby likes to call him, Augustus) has been invited to tea by the Baroness. Does she know what I still have to do to get him ready for the party? After all, he is an Earl and has been the highest ranking official in the Village for awhile... even if he is down on his luck. Ever since the Mayor's ship load of tea sank, things just haven't been the same.
