A Whisp of Dreams...

Maybe it is because Spring is truly in the air with new growth.  Or it is because (for me) May seems to be the month that starts the changes that will affect me for the rest of the year.  It was in May way back in 2017 that I received my first whisp of inspiration.

That was the year Hubby and I traveled to Scotland and Wales.  We wanted to delve into the history and magic of the land.  It was at this lovely castle bed and breakfast that the caretakers shared with us the history of the surrounding area.  This is when I first heard of the village of Furnace.  Alas, over the many years, it is greatly reduced in size now.  But at one time it was a booming city of manufacturing and protection for this part of Wales.

We were properly given instructions on how to find it as it hadn't been on our schedule of places to go.  Also it was not on the regular touristy route since these were villages long forgotten.  Just the interesting places that would be right up Hubby's and my type of places to go.  

It was when we came around a curve in the road and saw this old factory that produced the modern (until 1810 that is) and very popular ironworks was when we knew we needed to stop.  There was the huge wheel that would have been a part of the works of this factory still standing.  Beside it and further back was the beautiful waterfall that would have been the power that turned the wheel.

One can only stand there and wonder how much time has changed as we looked at the power that at one time was home of the charcoal industrial boom and later one of the principle saw mills in the region.

Also this is where the wysps came together to create a dream of a magical land.  A land called the Realm of Wymsy where fae and non-magical beings came together.  The birth place of brimstone and fire that hatched a lonely forgotten dragon egg.  And as the story goes... the rest is history. *smiling*
