It was a cool summer day and Cornelia was tending the hives. The bees were buzzing and Cornelia was cleaning the combs. One of the Bee-Gs, not in the mood to work, was busy hiding behind a leaf in one of the pear-apple trees watching the others. When out of the corner of his many eyes he noticed that there was a shiny flower hanging from the front door of the cottage. |
When she saw it, immediately she knew that the Sleeping Sisters must have sent it. Shooing away B-Glad who was still hovering over her by telling him that another bee had found a fresh patch of blooming flowers, she checked to make sure that no one else was near enough to see what she was reading. "It's a good thing they are in code,” thought Cornelia. She did not see that the little Bee-G had circled around and was now hiding up in the tree again, watching her. "I'm nosy! I want to see what is in that message," he had hummingly decided. |
“What could the Sleeping Sisters want?” she sighed. “They only send out a petal post when it is really important. It isn't like I missed another meeting notice or that I am behind on my dues.” Opening the Petal Post she quickly scanned the message. "I must get to Efem immediately," she gasped. Setting the message down on her planting table, she hurried into the cottage forgetting about the message. As she was grabbing her scarf for the walk to Efem's, the Bee-G swooped down and landed next to the Petal Post to read it. |
