As I have mentioned I am redoing my bathroom, no biggie as remodeling is often done and it is considered an upgrade. In our case we are trying to make our home more age awareness especially after my surgery a little more than a year ago that brought Age knocking on my door. "You're not getting any younger Sweetie," says Age, "and if you want to stay safely in your house, you better make some changes."
When we bought our house it had purple tile on the wall. Yippee! I was on my way to having a my childhood dream come true. But Age has a way of making changes whether you want too or not. For example, the bathtub was well over 30 years old at least and had to go for many reasons, but I thought I should be able to keep the purple tiling. We could work around it and still "upgrade" to a shower and seat. Alas not to be! As the new contractors were taking out the tub and prepping the room, we discovered that the old builders weren't too bright. Several bulbs missing in fact since apparently they had put my purple tile in the shower right on sheet rock. No moisture preventative behind it let alone stability. It's a miracle it has lasted as long as it has. Now what to do! With living in a small town there isn't many choices and I can definitely tell you I am not a big fan of black nor white. But the part that hit me the most was that I was loosing my dream. My fabulous purple bathroom was to be no more. I know it is childish to feel this way but in some ways it was my magical spa for so many reasons which fed my soul. How does one let go of a dream? First we made a mad dash into town (in the middle of a snow storm) to see what Fate had in store for me. Fate can be very fickle you know. By the time we also decided we needed to see what the stores had to offer since ordering anything wasn't an option (not going down that road of being without a bathroom for months again when the downstairs bathroom was torn up for almost a year!). It was already late in the day, but we managed to get to the store before it closed. Remember what I said about Fate being fickle? We found some stone that would work in the bathroom but it was a close out special. Meaning we only could get a 1/3 of the amount we needed. So dashing off to another store I came up with a hair brain idea (which so many of mine are *lol* but my husband still calls them 'magical inspirations') and found something to go with this other stone we bought.
As Goodie4U would say, " With a pinch of magic in the batter, anything is possible".

May all your dreams come true Lesley.. I finally got my purple bedroom.. with purple drapes and a bedspread that's lavender with beautiful Wisteria flowers. Alas I am not allowed to use it as I am taking care of my Mom in her home. I really miss my bedroom.

New dreams are always good Lesley. And I definitely know what you mean about the body telling youwhen it needs changes.
