As Nemmer was returning from Efem’s grove to his cottage he thought about what he would tell his wife, Cornelia, about The CAT. “She isn’t going to be happy, that I still have not found that darn cat,” he muttered.
| Kicking a rock on the trail and stubbing his toe since the rock didn't move, he groaned “Stupid cat! See what he made me do and he isn't even here.” Even though Nemmer and Cornelia had been together for a long time, he felt like it was only yesterday that they had just met. Reflecting back he thought about the first time he got a quick glimpse of her. "Oh yeah, it was love at first sight for me. Boy! Did I have a hard time getting her to fall for me,” he remembered. She was so busy looking for her silly cats even back then that she did not even notice him by the stream. |  |
"Maybe if I had taken off my mask first to say hi that would have been better. Then she might have not have fallen into the stream and gotten covered in clay."
 | "Oh she was HOT! In more ways than one," Nemmer chuckled to himself. He spent many days trying to figure a way to make it up to her. Here he was dressed like a bird and she was a cat lover. It was not until this realization hit him that he realized what a bird-brain he was. A cat was the key to her heart! That was why now he really did not want to tell her he couldn’t find The CAT. Especially since this cat was the distant off-spring of that original cat. “That darned cat!” Nemmer grumbled again as he continued to the cottage, hoping that The CAT might return home before him. |
