What the Frog???

Meen was out playing her favorite game "Leap the Frog", when she first heard it.  What a noise it was and it sounded like it was coming from the caves.  So being a curious Pkysee and of course the eyes and ears for the new Realm of Shadows' Queen, Meen felt it was her duty to check it out.

"What is that whistling sound?" she heard from the cave.  "That can't be singing?   My froggie friend croaks better than that."  Quietly Meen hopped up to some rocks just outside the caves to take a peek inside. 

As she peered over the rocks, out stepped a creature.  "What a funny face he has.  If it is a he," Meen murmured to herself.  Knowing how Troll females and Gooblin ladies looked, one could never be sure.  "But it does look like he is having fun since he has a big smile," Meen decided. 

"What is that green goo on him?  He's wearing what Goodiegood calls an apron too!"  Meen watched some more as she spied on this strange creature from her hiding place.  Then a thought wiggled into her mind the more she stared at the stranger.  "Oh!  I don't think the Goodie Sisters are going to be too happy if more bakers have come to our Realm."

Then the creature took a big breathe, stretched his arms out over his head, and turned around to go back inside the cave as he continued whistling some strange tune.

"Queen Ffion wouldn't be happy with me as her Top Minion if I don't take this chance to learn a little more," Meen confidently told herself as he hopped down from the rocks.  Patting Froggie on the head and telling him to stay behind, Meen silently entered the cave after turning her head and winking at Froggie.

Inch by slow inch Meen crept inside of the cave making sure that she was not seen by the stranger.  "This is harder than I thought," she realized because Meen was the straight forward type of Pyksee who preferred just jumping into trouble.  But he was a stranger in the Realm and one could never be too careful with strangers.  Or at least that is what Queen Ffion would have told Meen if she was here.

By now Meen had made her way past the entrance to the cave and could see a glowing light further in.  Not being able to stay at the slow pace, she decided that it was dark enough still that the stranger would not see her, so she hopped until she was closer to the light but still outside of it's glow.

​Slowly she made her way to a large boulder at the edge of the light and quickly peaked around it to see what the stranger was doing.  ​The first thing Meen saw was that a cooking fire was being made.  The creature was stepping and hopping on something that would make the flames fly higher and higher.  

All the time he was doing this he was still making those silly whistling sounds.  Then the creature started putting things into the pot that he had over the flames like Meen had watched the Goodie Sisters do many times.  "Nothing new to that," Meen thought, "though he is talking or croaking in a language I haven't heard before."

Then the pot started bubbling and the creature had things flying around the room!  There was a spoon that was pouring something into the pot.  A bottle that was dripping into the pot and then a funnel that the creature looked like he spoke through.  All of them floating over the pot.  Suddenly the pot began to boil over and then sparks started shooting out - lighting up the cave even more!  Not wanting to be seen by the stranger, Meen scrambled back behind the boulder so he would not see her spying on him. Suddenly he clapped his hands with glee and shouted "Ambrosia!"

"Wow!  That is powerful magic indeed," thought Meen.  "I better get back to the Queen and let her know what I have discovered.  She will know what is 'Ambrosia' is and if it's dangerous?"
